In this hypothetical project, the Body Shop is expanding into the Brazilian market and requires a corporate headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The corporate headquarters demonstrates an adherence to international building codes, ADA compliance and exploration of green design materials, as well as reflecting the Brazilian culture and the company’s corporate philosophy.

Concept - Capoeria
Capoeira, Brazilian Martial Art/Dance, creates performance out of a locked struggle.
The elements the design takes from Capoeira:
- Flexibility
- Collaboration
- Energy
In Capoeira the audience forms a ring (roda) to watch the performance. The ring provides a metaphor for the office space and daily battles in working-life.
Corporate Philosophy: The fight the agile dancers depict is representative of the social and economic campaigns the Body Shop wages.
Reflection of Brazilian culture: The contrasting beauty and danger from the struggle mirror Rio de Janeiro’s dual appearance of beach, fun and festival, coexisting with the poverty, crime and social disparity.
